STCI is a non-governmental organization that promotes the fundamental human rights and general welfare of the child by encouraging the acceptance and practice of child related laws in collaboration with community stakeholders through Advocacy, Social Mobilization and Capacity Building.

Save the Child Initiative (STCI) is a non-governmental voluntary organization founded on 17th October 2001 with a mission of promoting the overall development of women, youth and children through advocacy, public enlightenment as well as sensitization. It also advocates for policies and legislation that promotes the right of the child to decent condition of living as well as protection from all forms of child abuse and neglect. The organization began full operation in 2002.
STCI is registered with Sokoto State Government on the 22nd of January, 2002 and incorporated with Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with registration number: CAC/IT/NO 27852 on the 16th of May 2008.
The headquarters of the organization is situated in Sokoto State with branches in FCT Abuja, and Illela LGA. STCI began operation with five (5) volunteer staff and now has 23 paid staff working on full time basis and 184 volunteers.
